I was checking out a new marina for my boat for the 2010 season that would put me closer to Chicago for seeing the sights. I was looking for a no frills marina and I found it at Pier 11. Cheap, no nonsense, and still close to the lake. I can make chicago inside of 2 hours and only burn 20% of what it would have cost me last year or the year before in fuel. Plus, I really like the river. Smooth stable, and affordable. I was surprised to see so many boats still in the water here. But these are mostly sight seeing boats from chicago like the Wendella.
